Frequently Asked Questions

You connect Notion to the StackOne MCP gateway in a few clicks: open Settings → Notion AI → AI connectors, enable Custom MCP servers, click Add connection → Custom MCP server, paste the StackOne gateway URL with your account ID and token, and save. See the Notion Custom Agents docs. Requires a Business or Enterprise workspace.
You can connect Notion AI to 470+ live MCP servers through StackOne, spanning CRM, HRIS, ATS, ticketing, and finance — Salesforce, Workday, Greenhouse, and more. Each is reachable through one gateway URL instead of wiring up servers app by app. Browse the full list in the directory on this page, or build your own.
Notion Custom Agents ship with a handful of first-party MCP partners (Linear, Attio, Stripe, HubSpot, Intercom, Ramp, GitHub, Amplitude, Sentry). StackOne adds the other 470+ — every app reachable through one Custom MCP connection instead of N separate ones, auth managed once in the dashboard, and tool definitions loaded only when relevant to the prompt.
Credentials sit at three layers: your StackOne API token (embedded in the gateway URL stored in your Notion workspace settings, controlled by workspace admins), SaaS connector credentials (server-side in your StackOne dashboard), and per-user OAuth or session tokens (server-side, scoped per user). StackOne stores OAuth tokens and API keys, refreshes them automatically, and only exposes the actions you've authorized to the agent.
Skip the StackOne MCP gateway when any of these is true:
  • Notion's first-party MCP partners (Linear, Attio, Stripe, HubSpot, Intercom, Ramp, GitHub, Amplitude, Sentry) already cover your apps
  • You use only a handful of actions across a few apps
  • You don't need multi-tenancy or per-action scoping
  • Prompt injection isn't a concern
  • Your provider already does tool discovery and server-side execution
