You connect ChatGPT to StackOne over MCP in two steps: IT turns on Developer mode under Settings → Apps → Advanced Settings, then adds a connector under Settings → Apps, pasting https://mcp.stackone.com/mcp with OAuth (client ID/secret left empty). Each employee then signs in and picks their own accounts. Setup guide.
The setup is not different for the ChatGPT desktop app and the web app. The connector lives on your ChatGPT account rather than on a device, so it is the same URL and the same authorization on both, and connecting on one means it is already there on the other.
You do need a paid ChatGPT plan to use custom connectors. They sit behind Developer mode, which requires Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu — there is no way to add one on the free tier. Availability moves often, so check OpenAI's connectors documentation for the current state.
You don't configure each app in StackOne yourself. IT connects the apps and sets the action ceiling for your project. ChatGPT sends you to a consent screen where you pick which of those accounts and actions to use, narrowing further if you want. Rerun the flow to change it.
